This website is more of an archive for myself and a place to share my thoughts on the spirits I try and the distilleries I visit.
From time to time, you will see a review in which I state that the sample or bottle came from the producer or distributor free of charge. In cases like these, I receive NO compensation from the producer/distributor outside of the sample or bottle itself.
In addition, there are no expectations tied to said sample. I am free to review at my own pace and score however I want to score. I aim to give my own honest opinions no matter where the bottle or sample comes from. As such, producers/distributors will not be given editorial approval or early previews of our reviews, though they may provide us with additional information about a bottle beyond what is already publicly available.
The vast majority of spirits I review were paid for by myself, shared by other gracious and generous whisky friends I’ve made and I fully intend that self-sourced reviews will far outnumber those of samples we receive from industry sources. In publishing this statement, my position is very clear to you, my readers.
